« Along with other B Corp companies, it felt appropriate for us to be associated with the borderless project of Saype, an artist recognized as a pioneer of this new land art movement, whose social values meet those we are defending through our commitment, with our brands and subsidiaries, to contribute to everyone’s better living in all the areas where we are active. » says Karen Lemasson, CSR and Open Innovation Director at Laboratoires Expanscience.
Saype is a socially committed artist who wishes to create, through his work, the biggest human chain in the world. Since 2013 the French artist has been painting huge frescoes on grass, using ecological and 100% biodegradable paint that he prepares himself from natural pigments (chalk and charcoal). Since the medium itself is living and impermanent, the frescoes evolve over time and disappear when the grass grows.
Saype launched in early June his new ephemeral "Beyond Walls" project: a huge work, picturing interlaced hands on the Champ de Mars lawns, to celebrate cooperation and diversity, benefitting the NGO "SOS Méditerranée". This series will be presented in 20 megalopolitan cities around the world, over 3 years.
Saype features in the 2019 Forbes list of the most influential “30 personalities under 30” in Art & Culture, and his notoriety keeps growing as shows this dedicated article in The Guardian.
