Our social responsibility

Our actions
Laboratoires Expanscience is committed to a social policy that focuses on working-life quality and employing seniors. The company also promotes socially responsible investment (SRI) and takes actions to raise awareness about health and parenting issues.
Our 2015 commitments
- • Promote an employee skills-development policy to further professional development and improve company performance.
- • Achieve 100% of the "working-life quality" program.
Innovation on behalf of employees
Since 2007, Expanscience has been developing "Graine d'ID” [“Seed of an Idea”], an innovative, participatory program that helps the company foster a culture where each employee's creative potential can be expressed and recognized. The program also represents a change in our management mode wherein services and individuals in the company become less compartmentalized.
In 2010, at the Trophées de l’Innovation Participative [Participatory Innovation Awards] organized by the Innov'Acteurs association (which includes most major French companies involved in the field), Expanscience received a prize for integrated innovation in recognition of its "Graine d'ID” idea-management system.
Employing seniors
Expanscience's management and employee representatives signed an agreement on senior employment that goes beyond the company’s legal obligations. Nearly 200 employees are affected by the measures taken: the number of those aged 55 and up stays at 8% of the workforce for three years, working conditions are improved, mentoring is established and interviews are conducted regarding the second part of their careers.
Responsible investing
At the end of 2010, the proportion of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) in the company's current investments was 40% (up from 10% at the end of 2009). A company SRI savings/investment plan was also established.
Parenting actions
In the interest of working-life quality, conferences focused on preventive healthcare were conducted by outside speakers for the company's employees in collaboration with the Fondation Mustela.
Sponsorship
As a committed company, since 1982 Expanscience has encouraged work on early-childhood development and the young child's relationship with its surroundings, in collaboration with the Mustela Foundation. This commitment also involves supporting research in the company's key areas of activity, including rheumatology, dental care and dermatology.
“Solidarity” leave
Expanscience supports employees taking “solidarity” leave via a financial contribution. In partnership with Planète Urgence, two employees took part in a humanitarian mission to Madagascar in 2010.
