Commitment

As a socially responsible company, Laboratoires Expanscience has longstanding commitments in terms of social and community issues: its proactive approach led to the creation of the Mustela Foundation for young children in 1982. Since 2004 the company has also been highly involved in promoting sustainable development and the associated principles are now an underlying theme in all company activities.

The Mustela Foundation was created in 1982 by Paul Berthomé, the founder of Laboratories Expanscience, under the aegis of the Fondation de France. Its mission is to work alongside health professionals supporting the development of young children. Over the years it has diversified its operations, adding to its initial mission to support research into the development of young children the publication of material promoting public health, study trips and financing field projects in France and other countries.>>

Sustainable Development

Laboratoires Expanscience has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2004, setting up a dedicated organizational structure and establishing an action plan in 2006 with the participation of all the company’s management staff.  This action plan was implemented in 2007. Almost 50 staff are now directly involved. In practice the sustainable development program is focused on six key strategic areas which cover the full range of the company’s activities. >>

Arthritis Prizes

To develop a strong partnership in the field of rheumatology in France, Expanscience has supported clinical and fundamental research into arthritis since 1998 by offering two “Prix Arthrose Expanscience” prizes: one for clinical research and one for fundamental research. These prizes are awarded every year to two French-speaking research scientists for the scientific interest and innovative nature of their work. All the projects awarded the “Prix Arthrose Expanscience” have been accepted for publication in well-respected international journals.
